Rome Fire Department was established in 1974 to provide services designed to minimize loss of life and property. This department services to a population of 2,900 residents in an area of 54 square miles. We have two stations one located at Alpine Ave. and Highway 13, the second near 15th Ave and Apache Ave. The department rating - ISO class 7.
The Rome Fire Department provides a wide range of services which include: Firefighting ~ Emergency Medical Service ~ Vehicle Rescue (Extrication) ~ Search & Rescue ~ Water Rescue ~ Wild Land Firefighting and Fire Inspection

We Need You - Join The Rome Fire Department - Help Us Protect Your Community
Rome Fire Department Training is on Monday nights at 6:00pm with possible make-up training on Wednesday evenings at 6:00pm or Saturday mornings at 9:00am.
We will supply you with your equipment, send you to Mid-State Technical College for your entry-level Firefighting training. You will be paid $11.00 an hour for training and special details and once certifications are acquired, a minimum of $15.00 an hour for emergency calls depending on your qualifications.
